They were hardly rewarded. Farming faction, via doing RA/TA all day long was hardly easy and/or rewarding for anything but unlocking a few skills you could buy in 2 minutes flat. Fame.... ever since IWAY i don't give a damn about fame, almost every noob W/R did IWAY and such has a decent rank from doing nothing (but thats not the point). How exactly do you farm guild rank...
Farming Items got me things, it got me gold, and the occasional more gold from finding something decent. Now farming faction does the exact same thing, you farm faction, get access to high level areas for your 'skill', then can farm that repeatadly until they find something decent.
These 2 look VERY similar in concept, so why should Anet suddenly rewarding the latter and then just to add insult to injury, call it 'Elite'!?

Stupid system only allows the biggest guild in. Ooh lets reward the alliance that invites half the players in the community to join.

I want to play these, i dont mind having to work for it, but come on, our alliance has 100k faction, from 30 people. At the moment you need something like 1.5 million faction to control.

Oh, and we'll cut the amount of faction you can get in 12v12 after the largest alliance has overwhelming control.

Make us work yes, but to know you will never see this content unless you leave your guild and join the controlling one, makes it a job i really do not want to do.

Ridiculous.

As said before i am the leader of a small size guild not in any alliances and enjoying the PvE side of the game. If I want to access these parts of the game, it would be necessary for me and my guildies to farm for faction 24/7.

To prevent this I would suggest making this content available after getting a score above a certain amount in the challenge missions, or implement a extremely difficult quest which gives access to these parts.

I agree completely. This would inspire creativity, skill, and better builds. Then it really would be a skill challenge instead of a numbers game.

Someone should email this particular thread to Anet to get their attention specifically.

This is obsurd! I can't believe they would do this. To even get in you'd have to be a fanatic playing 24/7 grinding away getting factions points. I mean cmon, alot of us aren't little kids with no life but playing video games. I have a life outside video games, I work 40-50 hours a week, go to the gym, play sports but when i have spare time I play guildwars with friends and family in a small guild of about 20. There is no way we can accumulate over a million faction points meaning we will never have the chance to experience these awesome looking missions because there are people playing all day long because they have nothing else to do. I've played this game from the first day it came out and enjoyed it and now it just seems they are only rewarding those that play 24 hours a day. Heck I already missed out on the cool looking celebration helm because I had to work that day and didn't have time to play. Now it seems i'm going to miss out on these 2 sweet missions which i freaking paid for and miss out on zodiac items that look utter sweet! This is bogus.
